PARKS

Town municipal owned parks include:  Thompson Park  (named after a former Julesburg Town Mayor) is just one block from the Julesburg Elementary School Playgrounds and is located at 400 West Fourth Street within the residential area of our Town. It has an open playground area, no playground equipment avail, beautiful shade trees and picnic tables.

The Meline Park (also named after a former Mayor) is located Ninth and Oak Street within the same two-block area as our Swimming Pool and Ballfield and just across the intersection from the Tennis Court. It has playground equipment and is open to the public year-around. 

The Union Pacific Railroad Park is located at Cedar and First Street just across Hwy. #138/#385 from our main business distance. It’s has a beautiful gazebo and lots of shade trees.  An ideal place to spend an afternoon watching the trains scoot through Town;

Our small downtown Mini-Park is located at the corner of Pine and Second Street and is encompassed with beautiful flowerbeds, planted and maintained by our Julesburg Garden Club Ladies, a shade tree and a comfortable park bench; and

DePoorter Lake, is a 22 acre grassed parcel, has many shades trees, covered picnic area and a restroom facility located just south of Julesburg’s business district along State Hwy. #385.  This lake is stocked annually with fish for the enjoyment of licensed fishers. Swimming, hunting, ice skating, ice fishing, alcoholic beverages and motorized vehicles are prohibited.

GOLF COURSE

The Sedgwick County Golf Association’s 9-Hole Course has Grass Greens with Buffalo Grass Fairways and is located three miles north of Julesburg on State Hwy. #11. This publicly owned course has affordable user fees and membership dues as well as available cart rentals. No tee times required just come and have a “good time”.

SWIMMING POOL/RECREATION

A two-block recreation area includes lighted football and baseball fields, a swimming pool, picnic area, playground equipment and ample parking space.

TENNIS COURT

Our newly renovated tennis court is located directly across the street from our swimming pool park.
